JOANNA COURTNEY
Joanna Courtney read English at Cambridge University where she first discovered a passion for history, specialising in medieval literature. She continued to write through her first years of work and then, married and living in Derbyshire, in the sparse hours available between raising two stepchildren and two more of her own.
She has flourished in shorter fiction and also teaches creative writing across the country and for the Open University.
Joanna writes brilliant historical fiction, evoking past events from the perspectives of our most intriguing and misrepresented women.
She also writes tender contemporary fiction and gripping WW2 novels as Anna Stuart and a lockdown love story, Just the Two of Us, under the name of Jo Wilde.
