“Kate knows the business inside out.”

Mark Powers has been making up ridiculous stories since primary school and is slightly shocked to find that people are prepared to pay him to do it. He grew up in north Wales and sold his first comedy material to Radio 4 when he was 17.  He now lives in Manchester where he writes funny action/adventure books for children and plays for grownups. These latter are written under the name Mark Griffiths, a name Mark used for his first few children’s books.

Spy Toys was a winner of the Fantastic Book Awards and Space Detectives, with Waterstones Prize-winning illustrator Dapo Adeola, was selected as one of the ‘Best Books of the Year’ by Waterstones.

THE WRITER WHO MOST INSPIRED MARK

Douglas Adams, a writer who opened my mind to how improbably wonderful the English language can be.

MARK ABOUT KATE

Kate knows the business inside out and has a keen eye for what works editorially. Any writer would be proud to call her their agent.

KATE ABOUT MARK

Mark is a complete pro whose writing soars, whose plotting is brilliant and whose jokes are really funny.  His heroes are relatable and flawed and his passion for science fiction shines through everything he writes. He’s also a joy to work with.
